I live in Ogembo, a small tribal village on the outskirts of Kisii. I live on the ancestral lands of Pastor Yoshua Kimbayu in the orphans’ quarters. I am blessed because my brother is here, too. Most of the other children do not have family. I am a Christian. Every day we sing praises and dance before our Heavenly Father. It brings us great joy!

I do chores. We use water from our well, but in times of draught (like now) we draw out of the muddy river. I love soccer and we play at school. It is so hard to be out of school, but we understand because have no schillings for our fees. I sat for the exam. I hope to be in the fourth form this the year. That is like your 4th grade. I will work hard. Without an education, I have no hope of a good future. If you can help me, I will make you proud.

Sincerely,
Amos
