I live in Ogembo, a small tribal village on the outskirts of Kisii. You can see the orphans’ quarters in the picture above. Half of that space is for our sleeping. I am among oldest, so I look after the orphaned girls. I help when they are hurt or sick. I learn with Pastor’s wife, Rosaleen to use herbs. There is much suffering in Kenya. Two of every five people (40%) die of AIDS. We have disease like malaria and get sick from parasites. Once a year Pastor Dirk and the 2nd Chance teams brings medicines for us.

I want to return to school. It was so difficult to be out of school, but we do not have enough schillings for our fees. I sat for the exam. I am hopeful to find a sponsor. I am happy to report that I am in position 11 out 57 students. I will work even harder if I can return to school! I hope you would help my dream come true.

Sincerely,
Esther
